Photo Rejuvenation- IPL Therapy

IPL therapy is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin without surgery. IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, and is not a laser. It is a broadband light that targets a broad range of pigments in the skin, mostly browns and reds. It improves the appearance of sun spots, freckles, rosacea, age spots, acne, melasma, birthmarks, broken blood vessels, fine wrinkles, and skin texture.

IPL uses light energy to heat the target areas in the skin , your body gets rid of the unwanted cells, and that gets rid of the thing you’re being treated for. Unlike lasers, an IPL device sends out more than one wavelength of pulsating light. It can treat a range of skin conditions at the same time. Most clients typically get between 3 and 7 sessions, 4 weeks apart. The amount of sessions is very dependent on the client’s condition and the results they want to achieve, and sometimes can require less sessions.

Most clients will notice a significant improvement in the color of their skin almost immediately. Results tend to gradually get better over 7-10 days. IPL can feel like a sunburn for about 4-6 hours after treatment. Some clients may experience darkening of brown spots that were treated before they fade away. If blood vessels are being treated some clients may experience slight bruising.

***Because IPL targets a broad range of pigments within the skin, this treatment cannot be used on dark skin types.***
